It provides patients a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services as well as heart and vascular care.
Memorial, offering medical and surgical services plus critical care, is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and is designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
In addition, Memorial Belleville recently was accredited by the American College of Radiology as a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center.
Since 2008, it has been designated as a Magnet -recognized organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services plus critical care.
Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges.
Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required.
Demonstrates good laboratory practice May also coordinate the activities of the lab.
Responsibilities Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.
Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
Monitors quality control performance and corrects any problems and or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
Assesses technical and or instrument problems, including quality control and abnormal findings, evaluate possible solutions and chooses an appropriate course of action to solve the problem.
Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
