The full-size Mercury Monterey was manufactured and marketed from 1952-1974.
Taking its name from the famous Monterey Bay.
Eventually, being replaced by the Mercury Marquis.
Over the Monterey's twenty-two year run it served as the flagship in the Mercury line-up.
Marketed as their mid-range priced full size model.
This exceptional 7th generation 2-door Mercury Monterey was manufactured from 1969-1974.
Being sold in many variations including:
2-door, 4-door, convertible and station wagon models.
In 1971, the Monterey adopted many new design elements.
Redesigned wide-pointing grille and taillights were added to give it a new distinct modern style.
Most notable was the addition of frameless door glass, flush mount door handles, and standardized rear fender skirts which gave the 1971 Mercury Monterey a fresh sleek look.
