For Sale: 1967 Mercury Cougar in O'Fallon, Illinois for sale in O Fallon, IL
Vehicle Description Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to offer this exceptionally clean example of a 1967 Mercury Cougar for sale on consignment with our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix.
Although the name is iconic in Ford folklore, the introduction of the Cougar in 1967 was simply intended to give the upmarket Mercury division its own version of the Mustang.
In the early years ('67 and '68) only a 2-door hardtop body-style was offered and ours comes in just that form.
The delightful Silver Blue exterior paintjob is coupled with a glossy Black vinyl top and this '67 sits on era-appropriate wire hubcap wheels with white striped radial tires.
You can see the hints of Pony Car in the Cougar, but this classy Cat has stand-alone features of its own such as hideaway headlights in a split front fascia and vertically slatted chrome trim on the taillights.
It's hard to argue with the significantly higher quality of the Cougar interior either; this example features highlights such as Light Blue vinyl bucket seats with safety belts, gauges for speed/fuel level/water temperature and a clock behind a woodgrain tilt steering wheel, center console with hideaway storage cubby and built-in retro stereo with AM/FM radio.
Air conditioning is also present to keep you feeling as cool as the car you're driving.
The overall condition of the cabin materials is very good.
You'll like what you see when you pop the hood of this Cougar too- a 289 CID V8 that the seller believes is numbers matching with actual mileage of around 67,000 has received a few visible upgrades from stock such as the MSD ignition, chrome valve covers, Edelbrock aluminum intake and 4bbl carburetor.
The C4 3-speed automatic transmission is geared just right to provide a smooth ride and some get-up-and-go when you want it and is also represented to be the original unit by the seller.
This 1967 Mercury Cougar for sale is a beautiful vehicle inside and out.
Better yet, it's a desirable classic car for you and your loved ones to enjoy and make memories in.
We believe you're going to be thankful once you take possession of this collectible Cat! Give our helpful and knowledgeable Sales team a call at (623) 900-4884 before someone else does and we'll put our eyes and ears on this classic ride for you.
Alternatively, emailing email protected is an easy way to get in touch with us directly.
