Vehicle Description Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is excited to present this sharp fire engine red 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Super Sport.
What a year 1964 was, with the introduction of this car, Pontiac's 389 GTO, followed by the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet's Camaro in 1967 and more.
Gas was cheap, and cars were HOT.
It was a revolutionary era and fortunately, many of those road warriors survived the crusher.
Think about it, this baby predates the MUSTANG and the CAMARO and several others! A legend in it's own right.
Ok for you numbers guys and gals, this IS a real factory born Malibu SS, with a VIN prefix of 45837 (4=1964, 58=SS, 37=Malibu Sport Coupe).
She was born the first week of November 1963- and if you history buffs are paying attention, Present John F.
Kennedy was still with us for two more weeks.
The original engine has been replaced with a strong 350/350 horsepower V8 crate motor, which features Chevy's famed double-hump heads, a TSP polished aluminum intake, Hedman Hedders, Edelbrock Performer (AFB style) 4-barrel carb, polished water pump, and other nice details.
It has a good idle quality, and runs strong with the 4-speed Muncie.
OK to recap- we have a real '64 SS, it's red, it has a hot 350 V8 in it AND a 4-speed, and it looks sharp.
Yes, you better hurry because it probably won't be here very long.
The gaps on the car are quite good, the paint is shiny and smooth, and she runs like a scalded dog as we used to say.
Great first car for someone, or for an adult who wants a toy.
Get ready for a lot of attention.
