Vehicle Description Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to represent this rugged 1976 Land Rover Series III truck! Though inspired by the World War II jeep, the Land Rover immediately distinguished itself from all other cars.
From launch, it was the first mass-produced civilian four-wheel drive car with doors on it, and an available hard roof.
Contrary to conventional car and truck chassis, it used a sturdier fully box-welded frame.
Furthermore, due to post-war steel shortage, and aluminum surplus, Land Rovers received non-rusting aluminum alloy bodies, favoring their longevity.
The series III is the most common series vehicle, with 440,000 of the type built from 1971 to 1985.
This particular 1976 Series III was imported to the United States recently from South Africa.
Recently refinished in a Dark Grey, this truck features a reupholstered interior and tough safari look! Power is sent to the rear wheels by an Inline 6-Cylinder motor backed by a 4-Speed Manual Transmission.
Recent work includes comprehensive suspension and brake work in 2019, and the carburetor, starter, and ignition wiring replaced prior to consignment.
If you're in the market for a truck with proven dependability, an awesome South African look, and the fun of right hand drive, this 1976 Land Rover Series III is for you!.
