This 1955 Chrysler C-300 is one of 1,725 examples built for a single model year.
The C-300 was considered by many as the first production muscle car.
With design stylings by Virgil Exner, this automobile features refined European-influenced body lines, a grille based around the paired openings found only on the Imperial, and chromed fin-shaped tail lamp housings.
At $4110 the C300 was the most expensive Chrysler model.
The 1955 C300 was virtually unbeatable in competition winning it's first NASCAR Grand National race.
It took the checkered flag at 37 NASCAR and AAA races of more than 100 miles.
It also held speed records of 165 MPH.
After an extensive test drive, the famed auto critic Tom McCahill said that the 300 was a hardboiled, magnificent piece of semi-competition transportation built for the the real automotive connoisseur.

3N552676 was born black and remains so with the C300 tan interior.
Powered by the legendary 331 Hemi V8 paired with factory 2-speed Powerflite automatic, the 300 horsepower engine features dual four barrel carburetors, high lift cam, solid lifters and custom exhaust headers.
Engine and transmission were rebuilt 500 miles ago.
Electrical system has been upgraded to 12 volts including an alternator and high torque starter.
A dual master cylinder was installed for safety.
Factory wheel covers are included in the sale as well as miscellaneous parts and stainless trim.
